Book of the Month: Matthew of Edessa’s Chronicle, Volume 3

Our Book of the Month for July will be volume 3 of Matthew of Edessa’s Chronicle, translated by Robert Bedrosian.

This chronicle covers the Near East from the 10th to 12th centuries, a world where one can find Armenians, Byzantines, Arabs, Seljuks, Iranians, and Crusaders. This volume is part of a three-volume set (the other two were our Books of the Month for May and June), and covers the years 1102 to 1129, with a continuation for 1137 to 1162. You can learn more about it from Sophene Books.
